The Venice Boulevard on and offramps on the southbound San Diego (405) Freeway in Culver City were closed for several hours Saturday, while a big rig stuck in a temporary, narrow chute was dislodged, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The CHP was notified of the traffic accident on the southbound freeway about 8 a.m., said CHP Officer Patrick Kimball, who added that there were no injuries reported.
"The big rig hit the wall on a tight turn," Kimball said.
A Sigalert was issued at 8:27 a.m. closing the Venice Boulevard off and on ramps to allow Caltrans crews to extricate the big rig from the walled-off ramp.
The exits and entrances along the 405 through West Los Angeles have been narrowed for months while the freeway is widened and the ramps realigned, and the temporary concrete walls are scarred with numerous paint scrapes and tire skid marks, motorists have noted.
