Wildfire Grows To 75 Acres In Banning

BANNING, Calif. (AP) ― Nearly 120 firefighters are battling an early-morning blaze that has grown to 75 acres in a matter of hours in eastern Riverside County.

Cal Fire Capt. Jennifer Ricci says the fire was reported about 1 a.m. Monday in the hills above Banning, north of Interstate 10. She says no injuries have been reported and no structures "immediately threatened."

Aircraft will be joining the ground crews at daylight to fight the flames.

Banning is in the San Gorgonio Pass, 85 miles east of Los Angeles and 25 miles west of Palm Springs.
