Body Found In South Los Angeles Building Attic

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Authorities say a person found dead in the attic of a South Los Angeles building may have been electrocuted.

Los Angeles Fire Department spokesman Brian Humphrey says authorities received calls about the incident at 640 W. 97th St. at about 10:20 p.m. Monday.

Humphrey says firefighters who responded cut away the roof of a building and found the victim's body in the attic.

He says the victim's gender and the time, cause and manner of the death have yet to be determined.

But he says callers reported that a man may have been electrocuted.

Police and the Los Angeles County Department of Coroner are investigating.
