Two men tied up and assaulted a woman in her San Juan Capistrano home in an attempted robbery, police said Sunday.
The would-be robbers entered the home on the 3300 block of Paseo del Puerto at about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, according to Orange County sheriff's Lt. Fred Furey.
The woman had been walking her dog when the men entered, and she may have left a door unlocked, according to the Orange County Register.
The men tied the woman up, threatened her and hit her in the face, Furey said.
But they were unsuccessful in their attempt to get what they wanted and the men left without taking anything, according to Furey.
The victim was able to partially untie herself and call police.
Furey said he believed paramedics treated the woman for minor facial injuries at the scene.
Police were not willing to disclose any additional information as they continued their investigation.
