The body of a man killed by an arrow to the chest was found in the middle of a Lancaster street on Tuesday, according to the sheriff's department.
Angel Martinez, 62, was found dead about 1:45 a.m. at 13th Street East and Avenue K, said Deputy Oscar Butao of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau.
Martinez was not a transient, as preliminary reports had stated, Butao said.
Deputies went to the location on a report of a man down, possibly the victim of a vehicle accident. They then "discovered the victim in the street deceased due to an arrow lodged in his chest," said Deputy Maribel Rizo of SHB.
Witnesses who recognized the man said that he carried a cane with him on walks around the area, according to reports. No arrests were reported.
