Explosion Rocks Apartment Building In Canoga Park
CANOGA PARK
A small explosion in an apartment building in Canoga Park Friday night may have been caused by a natural gas leak that ignited, but no serious injuries were reported.
The explosion was reported at 10:32 p.m. at a two-story apartment building in the 22000 block of Roscoe Boulevard, between Topanga Canyon Boulevard and Shoup Avenue, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters believe a natural gas leak may have ignited, Humphrey said.
Interior damage to the apartment, which was minor, included one shattered window, Humphrey said. One resident of the apartment building was being treated for a headache, Humphrey said.
The cause of the explosion is under investigation, Humphrey said.
