LA Jury Convicts Hollywood Private Eye Pellicano

(AP) A Los Angeles federal jury has convicted Hollywood private investigator Anthony Pellicano of racketeering in a scheme that prosecutors say used wiretaps and other illegal tactics to target the rich and famous.

Other verdicts are still being read Thursday that deal with wiretapping, conspiracy and other charges.

Pellicano looked at the judge and didn't react when verdicts were read.

Federal prosecutors accuse the 64-year-old Pellicano of wiretapping stars such as Sylvester Stallone.

They say he also ran the names of comedians such as Gary Shandling and Kevin Nealon through law enforcement databases to dig up dirt that clients could use in legal and other disputes.
