ANAHEIM, Calif. (CBS) ― Anaheim police shot and killed a man on Monday who allegedly confronted officers while armed with a knife.

The man, who was about 30, died at the scene of the shooting, which occurred about 1:40 a.m. at an apartment complex in the 2500 block of Park Lane, said Anaheim police Sgt. Rick Martinez.

Authorities withheld the name of the dead man, pending notification of his relatives.

Officers went to the location on a report that a man was armed with a knife and was threatening his brother, who lives at the apartment complex, Martinez said.

The officer-involved shooting occurred a short time later. No officers were hurt. The shooting was being investigated by the Anaheim Police Department and the Orange County District Attorney's office.
