An ambulance struck a tree on freeway onramp in Glen Avon, and a 94-year-old woman inside later died, according to a Riverside County coroner's investigator.
Catherine Quiqley of Irvine was declared dead at Riverside Community Hospital about 5:50 p.m. Saturday, a coroner's investigator said.
The wreck was reported about 3:30 p.m. Saturday on an Van Buren Boulevard onramp to the westbound Highway 60 was It was unclear why the Premier Medical Transport driver lost control.
