A California-wide Amber Alert was canceled Monday evening after a Whittier father, who allegedly kidnapped his three children, surrendered to authorities.
Police said 29-year-old Daniel "Louis" Leon of Whittier took 4-year-old Danielle and her two brothers; 2-year-old Lance and 6-month-old Jeremy Logan Monday afternoon at around 2 p.m. after arguing with their mother.
The suspect allegedly threatened to kill himself and harm his children, according to authorities.
Leon reportedly called the children's mother at around 7 p.m., coincidentally while she was being interviewed by detectives, and said he would return the kids, according to police.
He showed up moments later and was taken into custody without incident, Jason Zuhlke of the Whittier Police Department said.
He has been booked on charges of domestic battery, terroristic threats and several counts of child abduction.
