The Orange County Sheriff's department Thursday announced the arrest of a suspected child molester who worked as a youth sports coach and referee.
The victim allegedly was a member of one of the man's teams.
Cameron Baca, 27, of San Clemente, was arrested on suspicion of oral copulation and sodomy, said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's
Department.
Baca is out on bail.
The alleged molestations occurred about two years ago and were not reported, Amormino said.
Baca reportedly had been trying to re-establish contact with the boy, triggering concern by the parents that he was getting too close to their son, Amormino said.
The parents reported the coach to sheriff's investigators on Dec. 9, Amormino said.
Baca was taken into custody late last night, with bail set at $100,000.
Child pornography was allegedly also recovered in his home, Amormino said.
Baca was a paid basketball and football coach for youth teams in San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente and Dana Point, Amormino said.
He also ran a catering business and worked for a medical supply firm.
Amormino urged that anyone with information about Baca call the sheriff's department at (714) 628-7170.
