WILLOWBROOK, Calif.
A big rig and two vehicles collided on the Glenn Anderson (105) Freeway early Friday morning in Willowbrook, forcing the semi to veer off the side of the freeway and crash onto a street, authorities said. At least one person was injured.
The accident took place on the westbound Glenn Anderson Freeway just east of South Central Avenue was reported after 1:10 a.m., California Highway Patrol Officer Francisco Villalobos said.
"The big rig went over the side of the freeway and landed on Imperial (Highway)," Villalobos said.
The semi fell into a bus yard, according to a camera crew at the scene.
The driver was sitting upright when L.A. County firefighters arrived at the scene, but the cab's exterior had completely fallen apart around him, and the trailer came to rest on its roof.
An ambulance took the injured driver to a hospital for treatment. His condition has not been released.
Two other vehicles were also involved in the accident, Villalobos said. Details of the crash have not been made available.
