Authorities ID 2 Men Killed In 405 Freeway Crash

LONG BEACH Two men killed in an accident on a 405 Freeway off-ramp in Long Beach were identified Thursday, authorities said.

The accident on the Lakewood Boulevard off-ramp from the southbound 405 Freeway occurred shortly before 12:30 a.m. Wednesday, California Highway Patrol Officer Anthony Martin said.

William Grigsby, 26, of Pasadena, and Dustin McCoy, 27, of Long Beach, died in the crash, the coroner's office reported.

Grigsby was driving a 1990 Volvo 240DL that went off the roadway and hit a tree, the CHP reported.

Three other people in the vehicle, including a 12-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, suffered "moderate" injuries, according to the CHP.

The cause of the accident was under investigation.
