Water Main Break Floods Long Beach Street
LONG BEACH, Calif. (CBS) ―
Long Beach firefighters, public works and department of water crews responded to water main break that caused flooding in nearby residential streets early Wednesday morning.
The rupture happened at Espanita Street and Stevely Avenue before 5 a.m. according to reporters at the scene.
More than 100 gallons a minute were pouring out of the break, Long Beach Fire Capt. Robert Tooley said.
At least 75 homes could be without water this morning.
The break also partially flooded the residential street next to the San Gabriel River channel south of the El Dorado Park Golf Course.
