Vivica A. Fox Charged With DUI
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
Officials say Vivica A. Fox has been charged with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.
The CHP says the 42-year-old actress was arrested late Tuesday after passing a patrol car on the Hollywood Freeway at 80 miles per hour and subsequently failing a field sobriety test. Breathalyzer tests indicated her blood-alcohol level was greater than .08 percent, the legal limit for a driver.
She was released from jail early Wednesday.
A city attorney spokesman says Fox faces up to six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine if convicted.
Fox, a contestant on last year's "Dancing with the Stars," has appeared in such films as "Kill Bill: Volume One," "Soul Food" and "Independence Day."
