Authorities say the June stabbing death of a 61-year-old woman in a Ventura home was likely a targeted killing and not the result of a bungled burglary.
Ventura Police Lt. Ray Vance says investigators believe the killing was not a random stabbing. He declined to elaborate because of the ongoing investigation.
Wendy Di Rodio was found dead of multiple knife wounds June 3 in a locked bedroom in her parents' home.
Vance says investigators have not ruled out a possible connection to the murder of a Ventura County couple, Brock and Davina Husted, who were found dead in their home May 20.
