Officials Probe Fatal Stabbing In Ventura County

VENTURA, Calif. (AP) ― Investigators in Ventura are continuing to probe the fatal stabbing of a woman in her beachside home and are trying to determine if the killing is connected to the slaying two weeks ago of a husband and his pregnant wife.

Ventura police Sgt. Jack Richards says authorities have found no direct link with the stabbings, but he called in sheriff's detectives for further investigation.

Coroners officials say 61-year-old Wendy DiRodio died of multiple stab wounds Wednesday in the Ventura Keys area.

On May 20 in nearby Faria Beach, Brock and Davina Husted were stabbed by a man who broke into their home while their two children hid in another room.

No suspects have been named in either case.
