Woman Fatally Stabbed In Upscale Ventura Home

VENTURA, Calif. (AP) ― A woman has been found fatally stabbed in an upscale beachside home in Ventura, about eight miles away from another beach house where a husband and his pregnant wife were slain two weeks ago.

Police on Thursday were investigating whether there are any links between the three stabbings.

Coroners officials say 61-year-old Wendy DiRodio died of stab multiple wounds in her bed Wednesday afternoon in the Ventura Keys area. On May 20 in nearby Faria Beach, Brock and Davina Husted were stabbed by a man wearing a motorcycle helmet. No suspects have been named.

Police Sgt. Jack Richards says authorities have found no direct link with the cases, but he called in sheriff's detectives for further investigation.

He wouldn't say if investigators found signs of forced entry.
