68 Workers Accused In UCLA Snooping Scandal

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Officials say 14 more people affiliated with UCLA Medical Center, including four physicians, are connected to the improper viewing of celebrity medical records, which brings the number of workers accused in the snooping scandal to 68, the Los Angeles Times reported.

The additional violations were noted in a report by the California Department of Public Health, which was sent to the hospital Friday, according to the newspaper.

The regulators faulted UCLA for failing to maintain patient confidentiality and report breaches to regulators.

According to the new report, a longtime administrative specialist who allegedly viewed 61 patients' medical records is also accused of reviewing Farrah Fawcett's records on 104 days between July 1, 2006, and May 21, 2007, The Times reported.

The 49-year-old woman, who allegedly looked at Britney Spears' records, was indicted by a federal grand jury in April for allegedly selling information to the media. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison.
