Robbers Pistol-Whip Artesia Liquor Store Clerk
LOS ALAMITOS
Police Wednesday were searching for two men who assaulted a clerk during a robbery at a Los Alamitos liquor store, authorities said.
The robbery took place at Tubby's Fine Wines and Liquor in the 10600 block of Los Alamitos Boulevard near Sausalito Street around 10:55 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Tom Raso of the Los Alamitos Police Department said.
The men, one armed with a gun, entered the location wearing black hooded sweatshirts and pistol-whipped the clerk in the head, Raso said.
After taking an undisclosed amount of cash, the men fled from the location in a vehicle, he said.
The clerk, whose injuries were not life-threatening, was taken to a hospital by Orange County Fire Authority paramedics, Raso said.
Detectives were looking into a possible connection with recent robberies of "mom and pop" stores in the area.
Anyone with information on the robbery was urged to call the Los Alamitos Police Department at (562) 431-2255.
