Transformer Causes Power Outage In La Crescenta
LA CRESCENTA
About 3,200 Southern California Edison customers were without electricity tonight due to a power outage in La Crescenta, a utility official said.
The outage was reported at 6:15 p.m. in La Crescenta and "several neighboring communities," said Gil Alexander of Southern California Edison.
Alexander said the area affected is south of Flanders Road, north of Berkshire Avenue, west of Lake Avenue and east of Encinitas Drive.
The outage was due to an "equipment failure in an underground vault located on Foothill Boulevard in La Crescenta," Alexander said.
As of 9 p.m., service was restored to 1,100 customers. It was
unknown when the remaining customers would expect their power restored,
Alexander said.
As of 10:15 p.m. power has been restored to all but 180 residents.
