Local Man Honors Kidnapped Children Through Art

San Fernando Valley Artist Painted Jaycee Lee Dugard's Portrait 18 Years Ago

The Missing Children, Portraits of Hope

LOS ANGELES (CBS) ― While teaching art to disadvantaged children, John Paul Thornton learned that one of his students was reported as "missing".

As a way to honor the families who have suffered such a loss, John Paul began a series of paintings portraying the faces of America's missing children.

He painted a portrait of Jaycee Lee Dugard just one week after her abduction in 1991.

To view his work you can visit his web site at John Paul Thornton.
