3 Teens Tagged For Tagging Up San Jacinto

SAN JACINTO Police in San Jacinto have bagged three teenage boys in the past three weeks for allegedly tagging all over town.

Cops say the boys, aged 13, 16 and 17, were responsible for thousands of dollars in vandalism.

The teens hit several areas around San Jacinto but at least one concentrated his graffiti mainly at San Jacinto High School, said San Jacinto Lt. Kevin Vest.

The 16-year-old boy is a student at the high school. It was unclear what
schools the other boys attend.

According to the lieutenant, the 13-year-old boy was picked up about 10:30 a.m. Feb. 29 on Sussex Road for allegedly painting graffiti on block
walls. Investigators linked the teen to nine vandalism incidents and 135 square feet of damage in the area, causing an estimated $1,350 damage.

The 17-year-old was collared after a short foot chase Feb. 26 near the high school, where he was allegedly spotted by workers damaging seven doors on campus, Vest said.

That teen is thought to be responsible for two additional graffiti crimes, causing an additional 130 square feet in damage, estimated at $2,000, Vest said.

The third boy was nabbed Tuesday after police linked him to the defacement of property at 38 different locations around the city, allegedly
causing an estimated $6,450 damage, Vest said.
