Arrest Made In Shooting Death Of 16-Year-Old Boy

LOS ANGELES (AP) ― Los Angeles police have made an arrest in connection with the fatal shooting of a 16-year-old boy during a fight between graffiti tagging crews.

Police say several students from Los Angeles High School and other neighborhood youths went to Windsor Park on Tuesday for a fight between the crews. Witnesses tell police some spectators apparently videotaped the fight.

The violence escalated and a 16-year-old tagger allegedly pulled a handgun and fired a shot into the crowd, striking the victim in the chest.

He died in a hospital a short time later.

Police have not released the name of the youth who was arrested because he is a juvenile.

Detectives are looking for help obtaining the video of the fight.
