Organizers of the Cherry Blossom Festival are seeking nominations of active Southern California teachers who are "Making a Difference," and will present awards at a special ceremony in Little Tokyo.
The deadline for nominations is Feb. 1 and teachers will be judged based on answers to questions about their dedication to education, interaction with students and going the "extra mile" to make a difference in their classroom.
Winning teachers will be contacted by Feb. 16 and then honored at the Cherry Blossom Festival in the Little Tokyo district of downtown Los Angeles on April 4.
All teachers currently teaching in Southern California, from preschool to college, at public and private schools, including teachers who train other teachers and Japanese language teachers, are eligible.
