Pop singer Taylor Dayne has pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge in connection with her March 6 arrest.
Beverly Hills Superior Court Judge Richard Stone Monday ordered the 46-year-old entertainer to serve two years probation and complete a Mothers Against Drunk Driving program, district attorney spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said.
Dayne was not present in court and her attorney entered the plea on her behalf.
The singer initially was charged with driving under the influence, but prosecutors decided the reckless driving charge was more appropriate, Gibbons said.
Best known for her 1987 hit "Tell It to My Heart," Dayne launched a comeback in 2005 that was chronicled on the VH1 series "Remaking: Taylor Dayne."
