1 Person Killed In Tahoe Plane Crash

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) ― One person has been killed in a small airplane crash in the mountains near Lake Tahoe's north shore.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor says the victim was the only person aboard the Cessna 172 that crashed in a remote area near Incline Village.

Gregor says the aircraft took off from Palo Alto, Calif., shortly after 8 p.m. Thursday. There was no flight plan and it's unclear where the plane was headed.

Gregor says it's also unclear what time the crash happened, and
the Cessna was heavily damaged in the crash, he added.
