Three suspected members of a San Pedro-based tagging crew believed to have caused up to $50,000 in damage to billboards and other signs along the Harbor (110) Freeway were behind bars Saturday.
Andrew Galvez and Cesar Heredia are 18, the Daily Breeze reported. The name of the 17-year-old is being withheld because of his age.
A sheriff's detective told the Daily Breeze at least one of the youths called himself an artist and told investigators he didn't think he was doing anything wrong.
Galvez, according to Detective Armando Hernandez, was caught writing on a wall in a holding cell shortly after he was arrested.
The teens are among a group that allegedly ventured out virtually every night, possibly for several years, he said.
