Police Search For Hawthorne Starbucks Robber
HAWTHORNE, Calif.
Police are searching for an armed robber who got away with about $2,000 in cash from a Starbucks coffee shop Wednesday.
The robbery happened at about 2 a.m. at a Starbucks at 5030 West Rosecrans Ave. just as employees closed shop, Hawthorne police Lt. Michael Ishi said.
The suspect, brandishing a gun, appeared from behind some bushes at the side of the building and ordered them back inside, Ishi said. The robber then ordered the employees to open the safe.
The robber scooped out the cash and ran out of the store, Ishi said. No injuries were reported.
The suspect was described as 6-foot-2 man in his late 20s, weighing about 200 pounds, wearing a dark jacket and jeans.
