Man Found Beaten To Death In Stanton Alley
STANTON, Calif.
A man was found dead Thursday in an alley in Stanton, authorities said. Police were questioning a man who lives in a house from which a trail of blood led to the body.
Residents found the body of a Latino man in an alley behind a home in the 10700 block of Sycamore Avenue just after midnight, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said.
The man had suffered major blunt force trauma to the head, Orange County sheriff's spokesman Jim Amormino said. Investigators believe they know who the dead man is, Amormino said.
"We have two blunt-force instruments we're analyzing," Amormino said, declining to say what they are.
"The incident is definitely not
Homicide investigators Thursday had a search warrant for a residence near the crime scene, Amormino said.
"There is a trail of blood that looks like there was an attempt to wipe it up or wash it up," Amormino said, adding that it runs from the back door of the residence to the alley. The body is about 30 feet from the house, he said.
"The incident is definitely not gang-related," Amormino said.
Anyone with information about the man's death was urged to call the Orange County sheriff's homicide detail at (714) 647-7055.
