One man was killed on a Garden Grove street Friday and a woman was wounded and rushed to the hospital, police said. Police were called to Cork Street and Hazard Avenue, Garden Grove police Lt. Bill Eriksen said.
The victim, described by Eriksen as an Asian male in his early 20s, was found lying in a pool of blood in the middle of the street. "It's not clear if it was a shooting or how the victim died," Eriksen said. "It's still a very fluid investigation at this point." The slaying may have been the culmination of a dispute, police said.
"It's perhaps something that occurred earlier in the day or earlier in the week that was an ongoing event that just happened to end at this point," he said.
The suspect was described as an Asian male in his early 20s. He was driving a black Honda Accord possibly with a broken driver-side window, police said.
The woman was taken to UCI Medical Center. According to reports from the scene, she suffered head or facial injuries.
Eriksen did not know if the suspect and victim lived in the neighborhood or met in the area.
The suspect may have had two or more females in the car.
A car that may have belonged to the victim remained in the street, with the doors wide open, according to reports from the scene.
