Man Arrested After Firing Shots At LAPD Officers
LOS ANGELES (CBS) ―
A man was arrested in South Los Angeles Wednesday for allegedly firing at least 10 shots from a .45-caliber handgun at officers, officials said.
The shooting occurred at 4:36 p.m. near 64th and Hoover streets when a man opened fire on officers in the area, said Los Angeles police Officer Karen Smith. None of the officers was hit and no injuries were reported.
One suspect was taken into custody, and officers set up a perimeter at the scene as they searched for additional suspects, she said.
The suspect may have been in a vehicle before he got out and opened fire. As many as three to five other people may have been in the vehicle with the suspect.
