Alleged Sniper Arrested Downtown

LOS ANGELES An alleged sniper was arrested by police on suspicion of firing shots tonight from a downtown hotel toward the street, police said.

Shots were reported before 8 p.m. from the Hayworth Hotel, 626 S. Spring St., according to Los Angeles police Officer April Harding of the Media Relations section.

Police blocked off Broadway and Spring Street between Fifth and Seventh streets until the alleged sniper was found around 9:15 p.m., Harding said.

No injuries were reported.
