Police Identify Man Shot To Death In Valinda

VALINDA, Calif. (CBS) ― Authorities identified Wednesday a young man who was shot to death in the unincorporated Los Angeles County community of Valinda.

The shooting occurred about 11:30 Tuesday night in the 700 block of North Echelon Avenue, Deputy Bill Brauberger of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.

Fidel Navarette Jr., 18, of Valinda, died at the scene, according to Craig Harvey of the coroner's office.

A motive for the shooting was not immediately known, Brauberger said.
