Cops Looking For Pizza Hut Shooting Suspect

GLENDALE (CBS) ― Police are hoping that surveillance photos, released Tuesday, will being them closer to nabbing a robbery suspect who shot and wounded a Pizza Hut manager in Glendale Sunday.

The restaurant's 18-year-old manager was, remains hospitalized, but is expected to survive.

The robbery and shooting occurred at the restaurant at 1261 S. Central Ave. on Sunday at 11:10 a.m., said Glendale police Detective Petros Kmbikyan.

As the lone shift manager opened the eatery, the suspect came in and reportedly jumped over the counter. He confronted the young woman in the back of the building and, at gunpoint, demanded money from the safe.

After getting some cash, he turned around, shot the victim in the shoulder and also took her purse. Police say they believe he meant to kill her.

The suspect was described as a medium- to light-complexioned black man in his 20s, about 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a white shirt, sunglasses, a brown suit, black gloves and navy blue cap and carrying a dark over-the-shoulder bag.

Anyone with information about the suspect's identity or whereabouts was asked to call Det. Kmbikyan at (818) 548-3987.
