Suspect Dies In Gardena Officer-Involved Shooting

GARDENA, Calif. (CBS) ― A suspect was fatally shot Sunday during an officer-involved shooting in Gardena, a sheriff's deputy said.

No law officers were injured in the shooting in the 1800 block of West Redondo Beach Boulevard at about 6 a.m., Deputy Tony Moore said.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead, Moore said.

Sheriff's homicide detectives were dispatched to the scene of the shooting to assist the Gardena Police Department in their investigation, he said.
