2 Injured, 1 Critically, In East L.A. Shooting

EAST LOS ANGELES A man was critically injured and a boy was wounded Saturday in an apparent gang-related shooting in East Los Angeles, a sheriff's deputy said.

The victims were shot about 5:30 p.m. in the 4500 block of Whittier Boulevard, Deputy Denise Fuchs of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.

The man was transported to a hospital and listed as "death imminent," Fuchs said.

The boy was treated for a gunshot wound to his leg, she said.

An investigation into the shooting was underway.
