16-Year-Old Boy Shot To Death In Maywood
MAYWOOD, Calif.
A 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Thursday night in Maywood, authorities said Friday.
The shooting on a sidewalk in the 6100 block of Prospect Avenue, near East 61st Street, was reported around 10:35 p.m. Thursday, Deputy Rick Pedroza of the Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau said.
The victim, whose name was not released, was pronounced dead at the scene, Pedroza said.
The shooting appeared to be gang-related, Lt. Dave Dolson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said.
