The robbery suspect handed a note to a Wells Fargo Bank teller demanding cash before hinting that he had a gun hidden in his jacket, a Seal Beach police spokesman said.
Authorities Sunday sought the public's help in finding a suspect who reportedly robbed a Seal Beach Wells Fargo Bank branch and took an unreleased amount of cash, a police sergeant said.
The lone suspect entered the bank, 13900 Seal Beach Blvd., Saturday about 10:15 a.m. and handed a teller a note demanding cash before intimating that he had a gun hidden in his jacket pocket, said Seal Beach police Sgt. Bob Mullins.
The teller complied and the suspect took the money, fleeing on foot and out of the bank, Mullins said.
A police department news statement described the suspect as a 5-foot,10-inch African-American man in his late 40s with "salt/pepper" hair color, wearing a gray sweatshirt, white T-shirt and dark-blue denim jeans.
Witnesses saw him fleeing the location driving a light-blue early 90s Lincoln Mark VII.
Following standard practice, police did not release how much was stolen.
They asked anyone with information regarding the robbery to call Seal Beach police detectives at (562) 799-4100, ext. 1108.
