The man accused of murdering his boss and a fellow co-worker at a Vernon lumber yard pleaded not guilty to murder Tuesday.
Saul Gastelum Moreno, 51, is charged with two counts of murder in the May 18 slayings of his boss, 55-year-old Alan Bohnhoff, of Whittier, owner of Bohnhoff Lumber Co., and co-worker Jaime Sanchez, 31, of Bell Gardens.
The murder charges include the special circumstance allegation of multiple murders.
Prosecutors have not yet decided whether to seek the death penalty.
Moreno is also charged with one count each of attempted murder involving the owner's son and evading an officer.
Moreno was arrested the same day after a brief pursuit that ended in Huntington Park.
He is being held without bail and is due back at the East Los Angeles courthouse on Aug. 11, when a date is scheduled to be set for a hearing to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial.
The lumber yard is located on East 26th St.
