A San Diego driver suspected of drunken driving was pulled out of his car by an angry crowd who witnessed him fatally run over a pedestrian Wednesday night.
Angry witnesses pulled a suspected drunken driver out of a car and roughed him up moments after his vehicle struck and killed a pedestrian in southeast San Diego.
Firefighters found the pedestrian's body pinned beneath the vehicle.
Sgt. Alan Hayward says the motorist, whose name hasn't been released, was allegedly speeding down Sky Harbor Road in the Paradise Hills area at about 9:50 p.m. Wednesday when he struck the pedestrian.
The crowd pulled the driver from the car and held him until police arrived.
The sergeant says the motorist may have been intoxicated. He was taken to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
