3 Critically Hurt In San Diego Scaffold Collapse

SAN DIEGO (AP) ― Fire officials say 14 people have been hurt in a scaffold collapse in downtown San Diego.

Fire spokesman Daniel Calderon says two of the people were critically injured in the collapse over a walkway at a construction site Thursday afternoon.

Ambulances and firetrucks converged on the scene.

The collapse occurred in downtown's East Village about a half-mile east of Petco Park, the scene of numerous construction and redevelopment projects.

Calderon says investigators at the scene did not know what caused the collapse.
