A man who fell some 200 feet while hiking near Palm Springs has been rescued.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department says the man was hospitalized Sunday for a possible broken arm.
His name was not immediately released. Sheriff's officials say the man and his son were hiking on Mount San Gorgonio Saturday afternoon when he fell.
His son used a cell phone to call for help. The pair also had a locator beacon, but a snowstorm made it impossible to rescue them overnight.
Sheriff's officials say the pair met some other people on the mountain and shared their tent at the 8,500-foot level.
The pair were rescued Sunday morning.
