SUV Plunges Off Parking Lot At Bob Hope Airport

BURBANK, Calif. An SUV plunged off the second-floor of a parking structure at the Bob Hope Airport in Burbank on Tuesday night, but its driver managed to walk away with minor injuries, authorities said.

The accident took place before 10 p.m. in the parking structure across from the airport's main terminal shortly, a Verdugo Fire communications dispatcher said.

The driver of the SUV sustained injuries, the dispatcher said. The circumstances surrounding the accident are under investigation, he added.

The vehicle, which appears to be a sport utility vehicle, dropped about 20 feet before landing on its roof, according to broadcast reports.
