SAG Strike Vote To Move Ahead, Timing Unclear
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
The Screen Actors Guild says it is moving ahead with plans for a strike authorization vote.
The decision to move forward with plans for a strike authorization vote followed a contentious two-day emergency meeting.
But when the ballots will be mailed out remains undecided.
Guild leaders had planned to send out strike authorization ballots as early as Wednesday, but Guild president Alan Rosenberg suggested it would not happen that quickly.
Actors in the 120,000-member guild have been working without a contract since June 30.
One of the key sticking points is residual payments for productions made for Internet distribution.
