Day Care Operator Charged With Child Molestation

The co-owner of a Hawthorne day care business was charged today with molesting two girls at the business.

Tito Richard Ruiz, 65, is charged with six felony counts of committing
lewd acts on a 4-year-old girl and a 6-year-old girl, according to Deputy
District Attorney Jodi Link.

Ruiz and his wife operate Ruiz Family Day Care, a licensed day care
business in the 4900 block of West 133rd Street, according to the District
Attorney's Office.

The older of the two girls told her parents that she had been touched
inappropriately, and the parents reported Tito Ruiz, who was arrested by
sheriff's deputies Monday.

Ruiz was booked and released the same day after posting $100,000 bail.
He is set to be arraigned Dec. 18 in Torrance Superior Court.

If convicted, he could get up to 18 years in prison.

Link said investigators were trying to determine if there were other victims.
