Rapist Allegedly Had Sexual Relationship With Girl

RIVERSIDE A convicted rapist accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl he allegedly brought to Riverside County from Illinois was in custody Wednesday.

Darryl Eugene Kelly, 42, was arrested at a residence in the 15000 block of Wedow Drive in Moreno Valley, where authorities allege the suspect was living with a teenager he transported to the area from Aurora, Ill., in December.

Kelly was reportedly living with the girl, who had been reported missing Dec. 7. She has since been taken into protective custody.

The teen said "she had been having a sexual relationship with Kelly while in the city of Moreno Valley, over a two-month period," according to a sheriff's department statement.

Kelly was booked on suspicion of committing lewd acts on a minor and unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor. He is being held on $70,000 bail.
