Two people were ejected from their vehicle and killed early Sunday on a desert highway about 35 miles north of Blythe, according to officials.
The vehicle also overturned, according to Jody Hagemann, a CalFire-Riverside County spokeswoman.
The crash was reported at 6:56 a.m. Sunday as a single-vehicle accident.
The crash occurred on U.S. Highway 95 near Agnes Wilson Road, Hagemann said.
Arriving California Highway Patrol officers said the vehicle came to rest about 100 feet from the roadway.
Their names and ages of the victime were not released pending notification of family and kin.
The Highway Patrol and the Sheriff's Department were sent to the crash, where an investigation was underway at mid-morning.
