Garden Grove Woman Killed In River Collision
GARDEN GROVE, Calif. (CBS) ―
A 29-year-old Garden Grove woman was killed in a collision with a powerboat on the Colorado River near Needles, San Bernardino County officials said.
Sandra Alicia Door, 29, died on the river in the crash, San Bernardino County coroner's spokesman Randy Emon said.
The crash happened about 4:15 p.m. on the river about three miles south of an Interstate 40 bridge at Topock, Emon said.
"She was driving a 20-foot Polaris and she made a U-turn in front of a Master Craft boat," Emon said. "She suffered very traumatic injuries."
The woman was pronounced dead by emergency personnel who responded to the river.
The woman's boyfriend was on the Polaris with her, Emon said.
The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department is investigating the collision.
