Cypress Bar Fight Leads To Arrest, Life Support

CYPRESS, Calif. One man has been arrested for attempted murder after hitting another man on the head with a pool cue during a St. Patrick's Day bar fight. The man who was struck is currently on life support, police said.

Cypress police received a call from the Breakers Bar, 4360 Lincoln Ave., near Forest Lawn Memorial Park, at 3:50 p.m. about the fight, which left one man unconscious and unable to breathe.

Paramedics were able to revive Steven Keith Toole, 45. He was then transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital Trauma Center in critical condition and put on life support.

Investigators contacted the suspect, Richard Lee Thompson, 47, in his Lakewood home. Thompson agreed to turn himself in.
